This beer was the brainchild of our brewer, Alex, and includes the addition of over 200 litres of passionfruit juice! This juice is added near the end of fermentation, which preserves the delicate aromatics. For the finishing touch, lemon myrtle leaves are added just before packaging. In this case, the lemon myrtle is a subtle accent that helps to lift the overall fruity, juicy character of the beer.
Fun fact: lemon myrtle contains the highest concentration of the compound citral of any plant in the world, which means that lemon myrtle tastes more like a lemon than an actual lemon!
The end result is a beer with a really nice balance of sweet and sour, with a big passionfruit flavour that’s super refreshing and easy to drink.
