Boston Brewing Co. Hibiscus Lime Sour 3% ABV
This month marks the peak of summer, so what better time to release a fun and fruity beer? This brew was inspired by the agua frescas of Mexico—simple but refreshing drinks made by mixing fresh fruit with water and lime juice. These can be found in the fridges of nearly every home in Mexico, and they simply cannot be beat when looking for a cool drink to revive you on a hot day.
Our beer-based version is brewed using hibiscus flower, which lends a beautiful pink colour as well as flavours of strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry. Hibiscus is better known in Australia as rosella flower, and it can be used in everything from herbal teas to desserts. In Mexico hibiscus is a popular flavouring for agua fresca, and can even be used as a filling for vegetarian tacos!
A bit of lime brings a tart, zesty finish to this beer, and a light body and low alcohol content makes this a great summer sipper.
